Our Story

Mittal Jewellery has been making fine jewellery since details to follow, working the way good jewellers have always worked: by hand, in small numbers, with the weight and the price of every piece written down where the customer can see it.

Why our prices move

Most jewellery is sold at a fixed price that was set weeks or months ago. The metal in it was bought at one rate; you pay a number that quietly absorbs whatever has happened to the market since. When bullion falls, the saving stays with the shop.

We price differently. Every piece on this site is recalculated against the live market rate for gold, platinum and silver. When the market moves, our prices move with it — in both directions. You can see the day’s rates at the top of every page, and on each product you can open the full calculation: the weight of metal, its purity, the making charge, and every stone valued separately.

Once a piece is in your bag we hold that price for ten minutes, so the market cannot move against you while you are entering your address.

How a piece is made

Our workshop is in details to follow. Pieces are cast, filed, set and polished by details to follow craftspeople, several of whom have been with us details to follow. A ring passes through details to follow pairs of hands before it is boxed.

Metal is sourced from details to follow. Diamonds are details to follow and conflict-free under the Kimberley Process. Coloured stones are bought details to follow.

Hallmarking

Every gold and platinum piece we sell is hallmarked by details to follow. The hallmark records the purity independently of anything we tell you. If a piece is too small or too delicate to mark without damage, we say so on the product page and supply a certificate instead.
